Her journey began at Duke University for her undergraduate education, followed by medical school at the prestigious Uniformed Services University School of Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. There, she was honored with the Army Surgeon General’s Award for academic excellence and leadership, a testament to her exceptional capabilities.

Dr. Ortiz further honed her skills during her otolaryngology residency at the San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium in San Antonio, TX. Her surgical training culminated with a fellowship in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Vanderbilt University, where she was recognized as the “Fellow of the Year” for her excellence in surgical teaching.
